Preliminary works have begun at Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara (ECD) where the much talked about specialty hospital is expected to be established.The announcement for construction was made last year by former President Bharat Jagdeo when he returned from India after securing a US $18M line of credit from the Indian Government to build a specialty hospital to do complicated surgeries.The hospital would be staffed by specialist doctors and surgeries would reportedly range from heart operations and organ transplants to cosmetic surgery.The rates would be negotiated with the Government and the managers of the hospital.According to Minister of Health, Dr. Bheri Ramsaran, cabinet awarded $97M to G.
